Hanoi, June 23rd – MSD – United Way Vietnam organized the launching ceremony of the “White Cane – Light Hope” project. The project’s launch marks the beginning of activities involving the distribution of white canes along with support in terms of medical insurance, nutrition, braille textbooks, and training programs on the use of white canes for visually impaired children and youth. The aim is to assist them in their daily lives and education, promoting greater independence and a higher quality of life. The project is sponsored by the Shinhan Financial Group’s Hope Foundation and coordinated by the Community Chest of Korea and United Way Worldwide.
The ceremony was attended by representatives from government agencies, invited guests, and over 40 visually impaired children and youth who are beneficiaries of the “White Cane – Light Hope” project. We hope that the “White Cane – Light Hope” project will serve as a new starting point, supporting vulnerable groups in general and the visually impaired community in particular to integrate into society.
